My Story
I studied Chemical Engineering at The Hague University of Applied Sciences after which I did a masters in Management of Bioeconomy, Innovation and Governance at the University of Edinburgh (2018). In 2023 I defended my PhD on Regenerative Higher Education at Wageningen University. The last few years I have held a variety of leadership and teaching positions within (higher) education. I regularly publish in international media and journals in both Dutch and English. But nothing makes me happier in my work than empowering others to breath life into their practice.
In my free time, I am a passionate gamer, especially Dungeons & Dragons which I play as dungeon master and player. Next to that, I am an animal lover, crazy for vegan pastries, and an activist for disability justice. I will always be excited about actions and research towards regenerative educational systems. I spent as much time as I can in the mountains, where I feel more connected to the Mother Earth than anywhere else.
I fulfill my roles in life with two fundamental commitments: to be an Anchorer and an Illuminator.
An Anchorer - I provide, craft, and nurture the conditions that allows others to rest, recharge, and find calmness in the midst of the toughest storms.
An Illuminator - I seek to craft and shape the conditions that allow others to see their potential and the light that they could shine on the places and communities they love.
I integrate both core roles into my way of working and being. I look forward to resourcing teams, institutions, and educators from these roles. Outside of the work I do for SRE, I am an active novelist publishing in Dutch and a scholar. Currently, I am serving as the leader of the Regenerative Thinking research group within The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. I have experience in the food industry, I am an active Dungeon and Dragons player and also DM games. Always open to connect about nerdy things.
All of the work I do is guided by a deep love for life.
